Often when I am troubled or confused, I find comfort in sitting in my backyard and having a vodka martini and a quiet conversation with Jesus.
This happened to me recently after a particularly trying day. I said, “Jesus, why do people work so hard?”
And I got this reply: “Men find many ways to demonstrate the love they have for their family and friends. You work hard and earn money to have a peaceful, beautiful place for everyone to gather.”
“But”, I said, “I thought that money was the root of all evil.”
He replied: “No. It is the LOVE of money that is the root of all evil. Money itself is a tool; it can be used for good or bad.”
I was starting to feel better, but I still had one burning question:
“Jesus”, I said, “what is the meaning of life? Why am I here?”
And Jesus said: “That is a question many men ask. The answer is in your heart and is different for everyone. I would love to chat with you longer, but for now, Señor, I have to finish your lawn.”
LOL, that was a good one…
Yes, Money is the root to many of our problems, when you have money even your dog loves you. No money, no honey….Even your children when you are short of cash they love their friends or anybody else that has money…
